Local Labour
South Suffolk Constituency Labour Party (CLP) covers an area of Suffolk which is co-terminus with Babergh District Council and the South Suffolk Parliamentary Constituency. The area includes the small towns of Sudbury and Hadleigh plus Sproughton & Pinewood on the West side of Ipswich as well as the wider rural area of many villages.
The CLP is made up of its 400 plus members and the officers of the CLP. It works in support of local town, parish, district and county councillors. It’s main activities are campaigning on behalf of candidates for local council or parliamentary election and promoting the Labour cause among the electorate.
There is also an active Branch which serves Sudbury and Great Cornard.

Following recent boundary changes, the nine Divisions that elect one councillor each to the County Council are:
Brook, Constable, Cornard & Sudbury East, Cosford, Hadleigh, Melford, Peninsula, Stour Valley, and Sudbury West.
The 24 wards which make up the South Suffolk Parliamentary Constituency are:
Assington, Box Vale, Brantham, Brett Vale, Bures & Nayland, Capel St Mary, Chadacre, Copdock & Washbrook, East Bergholt, Ganges, Gt Cornard, Hadleigh North, Hadleigh South, Lavenham, Long Melford, NW Cosford, Orwell, SE Cosford, Sproughton & Pinewood, Stour, Sudbury NE, Sudbury NW, Sudbury SE, Sudbury SW.
